Activate and Deactivate Your CineForm software

Note: Activation is NOT required for Trial or Beta software. If you experience difficulties with Trial or Beta software please contact support@cineform.com.
 

Activation for Windows or MacOS: After you submit the form below, you will receive an email soon (usually within a few minutes), at the email address you provide in the form, that will contain your activation code and activation instructions.  If there was a problem generating the activation code an explanation will be provided. 

Note: If you do NOT receive an email within a few minutes please check your spam folder - sometimes auto-generated replies get killed by spam filters.

Mac OS X Activation: You may activate your CineForm Mac software either from the Activation form below or by using the "Authenticate" application in the /Applications/CineForm folder on the Mac.

Windows & MacOS Software Activation

  (This exact name will be used to activate your copy of the software.)

  (Important - double check! Your Activation Code will be sent here.)

Locating your Serial Number: If you purchased a download product the S/N was emailed to you.  If you purchased a physical product the S/N is found on a sticker on the back of your product DVD case.
 
(4a)  Windows
System Code 
(Leave blank for MacOS activation)
  Example: E0E0-12A6.  (Eight digit unique identifier code aka "hardware fingerprint".).  NOTE: If you see TWO "fingerprints" - one (std) and one (enh), use the enh code.

Locating your System Code:
Run the "Activate.exe" program in your CineForm product folder - i.e. START -> All Programs -> CineForm -> Aspect HD -> Activate.exe.  Your 8-digit system code will be shown in the box. In one dialog box the "System Code" is also known as the "Hardware Fingerprint" - they're identical.

Locating your Challenge Code: The 10-digit Challenge Code is obtained by running the "Authenticate" application on your Mac in the /Applications/CineForm directory and selecting the Request License tab. Insert your Mac serial number into the designated field and click Request License.  Your challenge code will appear.
 

 
After you SUBMIT you will receive an email with your Activation Key. After you receive the email:

- On WINDOWS you will again run the Activate.exe application to enter the Activation information.

- On MAC you will run the Authenticator application located in the /Applications/CineForm folder to
  enter the Activation information.

   



Do You Need to Deactivate First? (Windows Only)
 


If this is the first activation of a specific CineForm product, then jump down below.

Generally you only need to deactivate if you are:

  1. moving an existing activation to another machine, OR
     
  2. migrating from one CineForm product to another, whether on the same or different machine. A product migration means moving from (for instance) Aspect HD to Prospect HD. A product upgrade (Aspect HD v4 to v5 for instance) does not require deactivation.

If this does NOT describe you, then jump down below.

Deactivate: To deactivate your CineForm software, you should run the Activate.exe utility and select the deactivate button. The Activate.exe utility is located on your PC at

Start à All Programs à CineForm à Aspect HD* à Activate.exe
        (*or Prospect HD or Connect HD)

When you select deactivate it will launch a browser so you can submit the deactivation information to the CineForm server.  Once your machine is deactivated, you can immediately activate a different machine (or upgrade software on an existing machine) by filling in the requested information below. 

NOTES:

  • You will have a different system code on each of your machines, and your activation code received by email will also be different for each machine.
     
  • The deactivation utility is only available on CineForm products beginning in July 2006.  We recommend that you upgrade or update to the latest version.  If you have an earlier version and do not wish to upgrade you will have to manually deactivate your product using these deactivation instructions.
