Once your timeline is complete, select “Export
à
Movie” from the File menu:

IMPORTANT: Due to the time it takes
for the HDV tape devices to spool up fast enough to record, we suggest putting
10 seconds of black video in front of your sequence so that the beginning is not
inadvertently lost when exporting to tape.

Select “CineForm M2T” for your File Type, and select
whether you want to export your entire sequence or just the work area.
Then, click “Video” in the left tab to bring up
the following menu:

Make sure your frame size, frame rate, and pixel
aspect ratio all match your project settings. The example above is for a
1080i60 project.
For 720p projects, select 1280x720 for your frame
size and “Square Pixels (1.0)” for your Pixel Aspect Ratio.
Note for Prospect users with 1920x1080 projects:
Enter 1440 x 1080 for your frame size and “HD Anamorphic 1080 (1.333)” for your
pixel aspect ratio. There is no 1920x1080 standard for HDV.
Then, select “Keyframe and Rendering” in the left
tab:

For 1080i projects, select “Upper Field First” in
the Fields drop-down list.
For all other projects, including 1080p and 720p,
select “No Fields (Progressive)”.
Click “OK” to save your settings.

Select a destination for your file, name it with a
“.m2t” extension and click “Save” to begin your export.

Once your export is complete, you will have an M2T
file that you can now export to tape using HD Link.
