Nov 10: v3.4.5 Build 186
Discussion:
The big news in this release is:
a) significantly faster (up to 50%) decoder performance due to
additional threading optimizations that take
better advantage
of 4-core and 8-core machines.
b) support for AJA Xena 2K cards for timeline monitoring.
Capture/ingest is not yet supported for Xena
2K
c) added support for exporting 3D LUTs as Active Metadata when
8-bit filters are applied to the clips.
Previously all applied filters
had to be 32-bit floating
point. (Prospect 4K only).
- Added
à
Support for AJA Xena 2K for timeline
playback and scrubbing - currently single
link
- Added
à
Cineon 985a PD985Log equivalent curve type
for Active Metadata (Prospect 4K)
- Added
à
more curve options for encoding and decoding
through Active Metadata (helps with some Red
projects.) (Prospect 4K)
- Added
à
Timecode support in HDLink for Sony EX1 MP4
files.
- Enhanced
à
Decoder performance increased significantly
for systems with 4 or more cores (v4.3.)
- Enhanced
à
Look Exporter (Prospect 4K) now supports
8-bit filters in addition to 32-bit filters
- Enhanced
à
As PC are getting faster, we now mark fewer
filters as requiring a render in full-res
playback and export to tape modes
- Enhanced
à
Premiere Pro low memory issues for high
resolution (>1920) projects
- Enhanced
à
Timeline audio sync start for Premiere Pro
users that aren't getting hardware sync via
an AJA HD-SDI card

color correction would clip highlight
incorrectly through HD-SDI output
- Fixed
à
HD-SDI playback for non-standard source
resolutions like 4Kx2K over 1920x1080.
- Fixed
à
10-bit
HD-SDI export to tape playback mode, was
sometimes playing green and wasn't
supporting RT titles with an opacity track
- Fixed
à
Minor
color difference between 8 and 16-bit modes
of the CineForm Color Balance filter for RT
HD-SDI play-out
Oct 8: v3.4.3
Build 183
Discussion:
The big news in this release is:
a) the addition of a 32-bit floating point real-time Levels filter
for Premiere Pro!
b) preservation of timecode when re-wrapping from AVI to MOV
c) bug fix that caused a rare decoder race condition resulting in
infrequent but visible artifacts in decoded
images (please update!)
- Added
à
Simple real-time Levels filter. 32-bit
floating point precision (Premiere default
is 8-bit.)
- Added
à
AVI to MOV rewrap now preserves timecode
- Added
à
Encoder/Decoder support for new monochrome
encoding mode
- Enhanced
à
All 32-bit float filters now have "32-bit"
in their name, allowing quick find in
Premiere's filter search
- Enhanced
à
Scrubbing control to always force 32-bit
scrubbing. Previously scrubbing would
drop into 8-bit mode automatically
(dynamically), causing clipping problems.
While this made scrubbing a little faster,
is was annoying for HDR source. Playback
control selects either 32-bit or 8-bit
scrubbing.
- Enhanced
à
YC scopes now support 100+ luma levels.
- Minor
à
Horizontal and Vertical flip filter moved
into "CineForm Filters" within Video Effects

- Fixed
à
Deadlock condition caused when trying to
change Active Metadata on clips too old to
support AM

The Active Metadata workflow is supported
only under Prospect 4K. For those
Prospect HD customers who want to experiment

HD and install Prospect 4K. When
you're done, you can reverse the process to
reinstall Prospect HD.
