CineForm's NEO Player is a universal decoder for CineForm all files that offers the following features:

• Playback of all CineForm resolutions and formats:
  - Resolution: HDV, HD, 2K, 4K
  - Precision: 8/10/12-bit YUV or RGB
  - Formats: CineForm Intermediate (4:2:2), CineForm 444, CineForm RAW
  - AVI or QuickTime (MOV)
   
• Separate installers below - one for Windows, one for Mac OS X
   
• Compatible with virtually all Windows or Mac OS X video applications including NLEs, compositing apps, utilities, Windows Media Player, QuickTime Player, etc

• The decoder never expires

Windows-specific comments:

• Premiere Pro and After Effects Importers (Windows).  This means the NEO Player is fully-functional for importing CineForm files into Premiere Pro and After Effects.  It does NOT include the CineForm real-time editing engine so it is not a replacement for your primary editing machine.  But if you have individuals on different workstations that need to work with CineForm files for decode-only applications (effects work, audio, etc) in which you don't need to render back into CineForm files, then NEO Player will be a great help.  NOTE: Rendering to CineForm files requires an encoder license through our Aspect/Prospect or NEO products.

• Accelerated Playback (Windows).  We install a utliity to "accelerate" playback in case playback stutters in Windows Media Player or other applications.  This utility exploits the multi-resolution decoding nature of Wavelet algorithms allowing files to play at half-horizontal and half-vertical resolution.  for instance, 1920x1080 files can play at 960x540 which eases the CPU load on decoding.  Color fidelity and audio fidelity are perfectly preserved - your source file is not changed in any way.  This is similar to scaling an 8 Mpixel still camera image to 2 Mpixel for computer display - it looks the same - it's just presented in a smaller format.  Using this utility, CineForm Intermediate files dynamically decode to a smaller resolution during playback.
  
  TURN ON accelerated playback: START MENU --> All Programs --> CineForm  --> Tools --> Desktop Playback-Fast
  TURN OFF accelerated playback: START MENU --> All Programs --> CineForm  --> Tools --> Desktop Playback-Quality
  
  NOTE: Once the Fast mode is turned ON, it remains in effect until turned OFF by using the playback-Quality setting.

Mac OS X specific comments:

• Neo Player for Mac also includes the CineForm encoder which operates without restriction but with a CineForm watermark, To experiment with the CineForm codec for Mac, download and install Neo Player for Mac.
