Nov 10: v5.4.5 Build 129

Discussion: The big news in this release is significantly faster (up to 50%) decoder performance due to additional threading optimizations that take better advantage of 4-core and 8-core machines

  • Added à Timecode support in HDLink for Sony EX1 MP4 files.
  • Enhanced à Decoder performance increased significantly for systems with 4 or more cores (v4.3.)
  • Enhanced à As PC are getting faster, we now mark fewer filters as requiring a render in full-res playback and export to tape modes

Oct 8: v5.4.3 Build 127

Discussion: The big news in this release is:
   a) the addition of a real-time Levels filter for Premiere Pro!
   b) preservation of timecode when re-wrapping from AVI to MOV
   c) bug fix that caused a rare decoder race condition resulting in infrequent but visible artifacts in decoded images (please update!)

May 1: v5.3.0 Build 115

  • Improved à HDLink has improved support for AVCHD files in which the tool looks for common third party components like the Haali Media Splitter and the CoreAVC decoder.   • Added à Switch in the AVI/MOV File --> Export --> Movie panel to enable threading during export.  Due to Premiere’s low memory issues, this was disabled by default, but should accelerate HD exports for simple projects.
  • Added à The CFRepair utility now ships as a standard tool in the CineForm --> Tools folder under Start Menu.  CFRepair is used primary for repairing files captured during live recording, in which a power outage (or other crash) has left an incomplete AVI.
  • Improved à Threading performance of the deinterlacing and scaling algorithms during live capture through HD-SDI / HDMI.
  • Improved à CineForm Quicktime export now uses the latest encoding engine.

August 2: v5.0.5 (Build 88)

February 16, 2007: v4.3.1 (Build 76)

February 8: v4.3.0 (Build 75)

  • Added à Support for real-time acquisition from HDMI sources using the Blackmagic Intensity card. This enables high-quality 4:2:2 capture directly into CineForm Intermediate files at a horizontal resolution up to 1440x1080 using cameras such as the HVR-V1. Read more....
  • Added à Enhanced pulldown removal for the Sony HVR-V1 24p modes.  Supports files from both tape and the HVR-DR60 disk recorder.
  • Added à HDLink can now select folders for batch conversion.  This is particularly useful for converting files from Sony’s HVR-DR60 disk recorder

    • Added support for extracting duplicate frames from DVCPRO-HD MXF files
    • Fixed the selector rate change to correctly allow 60p to 24p 2.5 X slow motion.
    • Fixed codec compatibility with some very old CineForm files.

    June 7: v4.12 (Build 60) fixes the following items, and is a recommended (and free) update for all Aspect HD v4 customers:

    • Threading improvements for applications that use the CineForm Intermediate DirectShow decoder (like Windows Media Player) that take advantage of four or more logical/physical CPU cores.
    • Bug fix for "smart rendering" setting within HDLink for compatibility with Sony Vegas
    • Bug fix for improved compatibility with Panasonic P2 viewer

    May 23: v4.11 (Build 59) fixes the following items, and is a recommended (and free) update for all Aspect HD v4 customers:

    • Fix for the AVI importer to work correctly with the Adobe Media Encoder (for WM9 exports.)
    • Installs the AVI importer for compatibility with Encore DVD .
    • Fix for HDLink when converting MXF files with the "automatic" setting (previously used interlaced encoding for 720p sources – no visual impact.)
    • Fix for HDV capture within Premiere Pro - Interlace vs Progressive options where reversed.

    May 17: v4.1 (Build 58) adds BETA support for Panasonic HVX200 (DVCPRO HD), plus numerous spatial and temporal format conversion options such as

    • Deinterlacing from interlaced material to progressive including 60i to 30p
    • Pulldown removal for 60i to 24p conversion
    • Spatial resampling; Various, including 1440 x 1080 ó 1280 x 720 ó 960 x 720

    May 1: v4.03 (Build 55): There are numerous feature enhancements and bug fixes present in this release.  We recommend that all Aspect HD v4 customers update to Build 55.  Following are a few of the notable additions:

    • Disable preview option of 1080i (disabling of preview mode for 720p has been available for a while)
    • Audio quality is enhanced on conversion to M2T files
    • Linear motion control is now marked as RT when using PPro 2.0
    • Fix for single-frame AVI export bug
    • Fix for Premiere bug which left one-frame timeline "holes" when using the multicam feature
    • Crash on M2T exports fixed
    • There are many minor features/bug updates not itemized one-by-one
    Mar 2: v4.02 (Build 54): Fixes multi-cam bug for 1080i material.  Optional update for those who need multi-cam support.

    Feb 28: v4.02 (Build 53): Fixes bug that occasionally generates bad frames in CineForm Intermediate files.  Recommended (free) update for all Aspect HD v4.0 customers.

    Jan 27: v4.01 (Build 52)   Minor update fixes a render problem when using Adobe's Radial Blur filter (thanks to Michael for finding this)
